Matt is a native of Wilmington and graduate of Salesianum High School. Following high school, he attended the University of Richmond where he received a B.A. in American Studies. Matt lived in Richmond for 10 years post college, working predominately in the retail golf industry in both sales and management. Through golf he developed a strong interest in fitness and biomechanics. These interests combined with a positive personal experience as a physical therapy patient lead Matt to pursue PT as a career change.
Matt graduated from the University of Delaware Physical Therapy program in 2013. While a student he gained experience in a variety of clinical settings including acute care at Underwood Memorial Hospital, NJ, rehabilitation at Wilmington Hospital and sports and orthopedics at Premiere Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital and Elite Physical Therapy. While each experience provided valuable learning opportunities, Matt appreciated the manual based approach to orthopedic and sports injury patients that he developed during his time with Elite. As an avid golfer, Matt has also taken an interest in improving individual golf performance through the golf-specific evaluation and treatment of functional limitations affecting swing mechanics.
