Mark grew up in Wilmington, DE while participating in multiple athletics including soccer, baseball, and basketball. He attended Salesianum high school and was a part of two DIAA soccer state championship teams. His interest in physical therapy first began in high school when Rudy and Hash treated him for multiple sport related injuries.
While attending the University of Delaware, Mark completed a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology in 2006 and a doctorate in physical therapy in 2012. Throughout his collegiate experience he had a variety of work experiences including coaching/strength training for Salesianum soccer/basketball, home health aide for an ALS survivor, and working as an exercise technician at Elite PT-Wilmington.
Mark has had many clinical experiences which provided valuable learning opportunities. His acute care experiences occurred on the joint replacement floor at Pennsylvania Hospital and on the pediatric oncology unit at A.I DuPont Hospital. While at Moss Rehab in Philadelphia, he focused on inpatient rehab with pathologies including stroke, amputation, cardiovascular surgery, and joint replacement. In addition to treating a wide variety of patients on his orthopedic rotations, Mark spent many hours shadowing surgical procedures and office visits with multiple orthopedic surgeons in Delaware.
Mark’s favorite aspect of working at Elite PT is the ability to apply his manual therapy skills while working with a team approach to provide individualized care for each patient. He enjoys working with patients who have undergone athletic injuries, surgeries, or who are having difficulty with gait and balance. He is certified in Functional Movement Screens and is a proponent of injury prevention.
