Catherine is from Frederick, MD and began ballet when she was 4. She danced at several ballet studios throughout Maryland and advanced through Cecchetti method ballet exams. She attended ballet Summer School at Hope College, Michigan. Catherine continued her ballet career up through college at Penn State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Movement Science. After college, Catherine shifted her interest toward long distance running, running her first marathon in 2014. Catherine worked as a substitute teacher in elementary school, as well as an emergency room scribe while completing applications to Physical Therapy School.
Catherine was accepted to University of Delaware’s Physical Therapy program, where she completed her Doctorate of Physical therapy as well as Master’s in Anatomical Science, focusing on the arthritic knee. Catherine’s first long term internship was at Nemours in Wilmington, DE. She worked with inpatient therapists in the Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. While there, Catherine enjoyed treating several patients undergoing halo traction for scoliosis, in addition to learning about therapy for infants. Her second internship rotation was at the Elite Foulk Road clinic, where she honed her manual skills. It was truly rewarding for her to treat several ballet dancers, both professional and amateur. She enjoys employing dance-based exercises to allow her patients to improve technique and prevent future injury. Catherine completed her final rotation at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, where she focused on post-operative recovery and neurological rehab. After having ACL reconstruction surgery, Catherine returned to Elite in a permanent position.
Catherine has settled in Delaware, and she is thrilled to be part of the Elite family, where she can use her skillset to allow her patients to thrive.
